Quality Control of Goods Receipt in an EWM System

In the ERP system, you can define a goods receipt block for quality reasons from the information for the material master record, vendor master record, and the quality information record. You can transfer this block information to the EWM system so that a goods receipt posting can also be prevented there for quality reasons.

Prerequisites

You have activated the business function LOG_SCM_EWM_INT (EWM integration) so that the data for the material and vendor from the ERP system is transferred to the master records product and the business partner in the EWM system.

You have made the following settings for transferring the data from the Q-info record:

  • To be able to transfer the data from the ERP system to the EWM system, in Customizing for Quality Management, you have made the settings under Start of the navigation path Environment Next navigation step Tools Next navigation step Communication with Quality Inspection Engines Next navigation step Activation of Events for Transferring QM Data in Procurement End of the navigation path.

  • You have executed the report RQBAAEXT to transfer the information from the Blocking Function and Inspection Control fields from the Q-info record in the ERP system to the inspection rule in the EWM system.

For more information, see the documentation for the report RQBAAXT.

The following settings are relevant in Customizing for the ERP system:

  • The QM control key in Customizing for Quality Management under Start of the navigation path QM in Logistics Next navigation step QM in Procurement Next navigation step Define Control Keys End of the navigation path

To control the material, the settings for the message mode and the Block Inactive indicator are taken into account.

  • The definition of the delivery block in Customizing for Quality Management under Start of the navigation path QM in Logistics Next navigation step QM in Procurement Next navigation step Define Delivery Block End of the navigation path

Only blocks for which the Goods Receipt indicator has been set are taken into consideration.

The following settings apply to the master data:

  • Material master

In the material master, the QM Procurement Active indicator must be set in the QM view.

For a goods receipt block in EWM, a control key must be assigned for which the message mode is to issue an error message.

  • In order that the blocking function is transferred from the Q-info record to the EWM system, an active inspection type with origin 17 must also be assigned to the materials (see Inspection Lot Origin 17 (Externally Triggered Inspection).

  • Vendor master

In the vendor master, a blocking function, for which the control indicator is set for the goods receipt, must be assigned.

  • Q-info record

In the Q-info record, a blocking function, for which the control indicator is set for the goods receipt, must be assigned. Moreover, the setting No Inspection in inspection control can be used to control that no inspection document is generated in EWM, even though the material master record requires an inspection.

Features

The goods receipt inspection is performed in the EWM system in the following sequence:

  1. Inspection of the message mode in the QM control key of the delivered material

  2. Inspection of whether a goods receipt is envisaged for the blocking function in the vendor master

  3. Inspection of whether a goods receipt is envisaged for the blocking function in the Q-info record

  4. Other quality inspections, for example, acceptance sampling inspection

The information for a goods receipt block is mapped in the EWM system in the inspection rule, with the properties for business partner, product, and the party entitled to dispose from the Q-info record being derived from the vendor, material, and plant.
