The calibration grid symbol displays the classification of the talent in the calibration grid based on his or her current performance values and potential values. As a comparison, it displays the history, meaning the previous classification based on the previous values. The calibration grid symbol is displayed in the following places:
Outside talent review meetings: in the talent profile for managers and talent management specialists
Inside talent review meetings:
in the talent monitor
in a talent's short profile
in a talent's business card
In Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development, you have made the following settings:
Since the calibration grid symbols are stored as attachments in Knowledge Provider
, corresponding logical and physical classes must be defined for the HCM_TMC
document area in the Document Modeling Workbench
(transaction DMWB
). These settings are available in the standard SAP system.
The settings that you make here affect the calibration grid that you use for talent review meetings as well as the calibration grid symbol.
The calibration grid symbol displays the boxes in which the talent is classified based on his or her current and previous performance values and potential values as follows:
The box in which the talent is positioned based on his or her current performance values and potential values is filled with a darker color.
The box that corresponds to the previous performance values and potential values is filled with a lighter color.
The system determines the performance values and potential values for the calibration grid symbol as described under Determination of the Valid Performance Value and Potential Value). It proceeds as follows:
Calibration Grid Symbol Within a Talent Review Meeting
The system takes the ID of the talent review meeting into account. This means that it proceeds in the same way as for determining the corresponding values for the talent review meeting.
Note
The same logic applies to the symbols that display the trend in the calibration grid.
Calibration Grid Symbol in the Talent Profile for Managers and Talent Management Specialists
The system does not consider the ID of a talent review meeting since the calibration grid symbol does not refer to a particular talent review meeting in this case. This means that it proceeds in the same way as for determining the values outside talent review meetings.
Therefore, the classification of a talent in the calibration grid symbol may differ. In the talent profile for managers and talent management specialists, the calibration grid symbol may display a different classification to the one in the talent review meeting.
This example assumes that a talent has the performance value 3 and that the following infotype records of the Potential
(7408) infotype exist:

Therefore, in the calibration grid symbol in talent review meeting 0001, the box of the calibration grid that corresponds to the potential value from infotype record 0002 is filled with a dark color:
Graphic 1: Calibration Grid Symbol in Talent Review Meeting 0002
Since the system takes the ID of the talent review meeting into account in this case, it uses the potential value from the infotype record in which this ID is stored.
However, in the calibration grid symbol of the talent profile for managers and talent management specialists, the box of the calibration grid that corresponds to the potential value from infotype record 0003 is filled with a dark color:

Since the system does not consider the ID of the talent review meeting in this case, it determines the infotype record with the highest level, meaning infotype record 0003.
