Enhancing Existing Analytical and Planning ApplicationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can enhance existing applications with analytical content.

Procedure

Substep A: Calling Application Configuration

Alternative 1

  1. In the User Maintenance transaction (SU01), set the user parameter FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT to the value A.

  2. Call the Object Navigator transaction (SE80) to access the ABAP Development Workbench.

  3. From the dropdown list, select the package to which the application that you want to enhance belongs.

  4. Expand the Web Dynpro node and select a Web Dynpro application configuration by double-clicking it.

  5. In the menu, choose Start of the navigation path Web Dynpro Configuration Next navigation step Test Next navigation step Execute in Administration Mode End of the navigation path. The Web Dynpro application starts in a separate browser window.

  6. In this window, go to the upper right corner and choose Configure Page.

Alternative 2

  1. In the User Maintenance transaction (SU01), set the user parameter FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT to the value A.

  2. Execute the application that you wish to adapt.

  3. In this application, go to the upper right corner and choose Configure Page.

You reach the Editor for the Web Dynpro ABAP Component Configuration page.

Since you are not in the original system of the application, changes in the Customizing view are performed by Web Dynpro. If no Customizing exists for the component that you want to adapt, you must create it. To do so, choose New and enter a description and, if applicable, a transport request to document the Customizing.

Note

Unlike the steps related to adaptations of the configuration layer of Web Dynpro (see Creating Own Analytical and Planning Applications), the steps listed below describe adaptations of the Customizing layer.

For more information, see the documentation of SAP NetWeaver under Adjusting Web Dynpro Applications and Administrator Mode.

Now you can edit the component Customizing.

Substep B: Editing the Component Configuration

All the remaining steps are identical to the steps to create a new application in the component configuration. Follow the instructions in Substep D under Creating Own Analytical and Planning Applications.
