You can view the generated layout in a preview and print it if required.

The document template must not contain any errors. Therefore choose

Check Template
first and correct any errors. You can ignore warnings.
If the document template contains an included document template, the latter must have the status
Released
or
In Work
.
Choose

Start Preview
.
The
Create Report Using Template
dialog box appears. You can overwrite the system entries from the
WWI settings
if you wish.
If your document template contains parameter symbols, the first call displays the
Maintain Parameter Values
dialog box:
Enter values for the parameter symbols.
If a symbol of the type
Parameter
is defined within a repeating group of the report template, using the functions
with the quick info text
Insert Line
and
Add Line
you can insert or append a number of values for parameters.
If hierarchy data exists for the parameter values, you can use the
Hierarchy On/Off
function. For more information about this function, see
Editing Default Parameter Values

Default Parameter Value Determination
.
Confirm your entries.
The system displays the preliminary generated document. If you want to show the symbol tree and the tab pages, choose
with the quick info text
Open and Close Parameter Window
. The editing functions are deactivated in the preview, however.
You can toggle between the views using the icons
with the quick info text
Switch to Template
and
with the quick info text
Switch to Preview
.
