Use

You can view the generated layout in a preview and print it if required.

Prerequisites

  • See the “Prerequisites” section under Document Template Layout Editing .

  • The document template must not contain any errors. Therefore choose with the quick info text Check Template first and correct any errors. You can ignore warnings.

  • If the document template contains an included document template, the latter must have the status Released or In Work .

Procedure

  1. Choose with the quick info text Start Preview .

The Create Report Using Template dialog box appears. You can overwrite the system entries from the WWI settings if you wish.

  2. If your document template contains parameter symbols, the first call displays the Maintain Parameter Values dialog box:

    1. Enter values for the parameter symbols.

    2. If a symbol of the type Parameter is defined within a repeating group of the report template, using the functions with the quick info text Insert Line and Add Line you can insert or append a number of values for parameters.

    3. If hierarchy data exists for the parameter values, you can use the Hierarchy On/Off function. For more information about this function, see Editing Default Parameter Values and Default Parameter Value Determination .

  3. Confirm your entries.

The system displays the preliminary generated document. If you want to show the symbol tree and the tab pages, choose with the quick info text Open and Close Parameter Window . The editing functions are deactivated in the preview, however.

You can toggle between the views using the icons with the quick info text Switch to Template and with the quick info text Switch to Preview .
