 Copying or Moving Output Variants

Prerequisites

  • You have:

    • Display authorization for the output variant group that contains the output variant you want to copy

    • Change authorization for the output variant group that contains the output variant you want to move

    Note Note

    The EMPTY group contains the output variantsthat you specified in Customizing. You can use these output variants as copy templates, however you cannot move them to other groups. You cannot save changes to the output variants in the EMPTY group.

  • You have change authorization for the output variant group in which you want to insert the copied or moved output variant.

  • You have run a specification search or loaded a set of hits and are on the hit list screen or on the screens for editing the header data of a specification.

Procedure

  1. Choose with the quick info text Edit Output Variants .

    The Edit Output Variant: Group Overview dialog box appears.

  2. Position the cursor on the required output variant and choose:

    • with the quick info text Copy if you want to copy the output variant

    • with the quick info text Cut if you want to move the output variant

  3. Position the cursor on one of the following:

    • If you want to insert the copied or moved output variant at a specific position within a group, position the cursor on the output variant after the required position in the group.

    • If you want to insert the copied or moved output variant as the last output variant in the group or if the group does not yet contain any output variants, position the cursor on the key for the group.

  4. Choose with the quick info text Paste .

Result

The output variant is inserted in the group at the appropriate position.

Note Note

A group can only accept a certain number of output variants. You specify this maximum number in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools . When the maximum number is reached, you must first delete an output variant from the group before you can insert a new output variant in the group.
