Object documentationExternal Work Experience (Infotype 7403)

Infotype in which the system stores information about the work experience that a talent has gained outside of the enterprise.

An employee (or also his or her superior or the responsible talent management specialist) stores information about employment relationships in which he or she was employed outside of the enterprise in the External Work Experience category in the talent profile. For each employment relationship that he or she enters in the talent profile, the system creates a record for the External Work Experience infotype in the background and stores the ID of the employee's central person therein (object type CP).

Structure

In the External Work Experience infotype, the system defines the following information:

  • Employer for whom the employee worked

  • Country, region, and city of the employment relationship

  • Employer industry

  • Functional area in which the employee worked

  • Hierarchy level in which the employee worked

  • Span of control

  • Start and end of previous employment relationship

  • Working time in hours per week

  • Type of work contract (for example, permanent contract)

  • Name of the job that the employee held

  • If the employee has created a note for the External Work Experience category: ID and document class of this note

  • If the employee has stored an attachment for the External Work Experience category: ID and document class of this attachment

Example

The employee with the personnel number 1234 enters information about his or her previous employers A, B, and C in his or her talent profile. The personnel number 1234 is related to the ID of the central person 5678. The system thus creates three records for the External Work Experience infotype in each of which the central person 5678 is given.
