Use

You can define all user settings for value assignment centrally on the Value assgmt tab.

  • Display

Standard

The allowed values are displayed as defined in the characteristic.

If the Value assignment indicator is not set in the characteristic, you can set the indicator here. Then all values are displayed in value assignment.

Without values

Allowed values are not displayed in value assignment, regardless of the settings in the characteristic.

With values without page editing / with values and one char. per page

You can define whether all characteristics and their allowed values are displayed on one page or whether each characteristic is displayed on a separate page.

All assigned values

If this indicator is selected, all assigned values are displayed. Otherwise, you only see the first value assigned to each characteristic, and an indication that further values exist.

Additional information

In value assignment, there is an additional column that shows whether a characteristic was inherited or has dependencies. To see the information in detail, place the cursor on the characteristic and choose the F1 help.

Display required characteristics

Characteristics that are required are marked as such in an additional column.

Required / optional characteristics

For required characteristics, you must assign a value when you classify an object to complete the classification. The Entry required indicator is set for these characteristics in a characteristics or class maintenance function.

This is what happens when you assign values to characteristics:

  • If you try to leave the value assignment screen without assigning a value to a required characteristic, you see the possible entries dialog box for the required characteristic, and can select a value.

  • If you want to leave the value assignment screen without assigning a value to a required characteristic, set the classification status to Incomplete. You can exclude objects with incomplete classifications when you use classes to find objects. You can exclude objects with incomplete classifications when you use classes to find objects.

You do not have to assign a value to optional characteristics.

To display the required and optional characteristics in value assignment, the indicators must be set in the user settings.

With assigned values / without values

You can decide whether the characteristics that have assigned values or the characteristics that do not yet have assigned values are displayed.

With inherited characteristics

Characteristics inherited from superior classes or characteristics from multiple classification are displayed.

With additional characteristics

The object characteristics that are assigned to a class or class type are displayed on the value assignment screen of the Find Objects function, where you can assign values to them.

With excluded characteristics

All characteristics that are excluded by dependencies are displayed.

Key Features

In the classification menu, choose Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step User Settings End of the navigation path. A dialog box with tabs appears, where you can enter the settings.

Choose Continue to change the user settings temporarily. Choose Save to make permanent changes.
