User Settings
Purpose
If authorized to do so, the system administrator can define a profile in Customizing that contains all the necessary settings for roles or individual users.
SeCreating/Changing User Profiles
However, in class maintenance you can still change user settings for your own user or assign your user to another profile.
The user settings are for finding objects and assigning characteristic values.
