You can select by master data and class characteristics in the list editing of technical objects (functional locations and equipment).
The system uses the following search strategy:
If you enter a technical object in the selection screen and also specify class characteristics, when it performs the search the system first searches by the master data and then by the class characteristics.
If you do not enter a technical object in the selection screen and also specify class characteristics, when it performs the search the system first searches by the class characteristics and then by the master data.
The system only revokes the specified class characteristics if you explicitly revoke them using the
Delete
symbol.
You can override the above search strategies by using the Business Add-In (BADI) IHSA_LIST_EDITING for functional locations and equipment.
If you enter a technical object in the selection screen and the
First Perform Selection Using Classes
indicator in the BADI is set, then the system searches first by class characteristics, then by master data.
If the indicator is not set, then the system first searches by the master data, then by the class characteristics.
This search strategy is used in the following functions of Plant Maintenance and Customer Service:
Changing a Functional Location
Displaying a Functional Location
Changing a Piece of Equipment
Displaying an Equipment Master Record
