  Features of the Appraisal Systems Component

Use

You can use the Appraisal Systems component to:

  • Plan and prepare appraisals

  • Perform appraisals

  • Evaluate and analyze appraisals

  • Compare appraisals

  • Manage appraisals

You can map practically all appraisal systems and processes in the SAP system.

Features

The functions available in this component include:

  • Planning and Preparation

    • For each appraisal (or subappraisal), you can specify a period within which the appraisal or subappraisal should be worked through.

    • The system proposes default values for the most important input fields.

    • You can plan recurring appraisals in advance.

    • You can create new appraisals by copying appraisals that have already been performed.

    • You can specify that the system should select groups of objects to be appraised or groups of appraisers, and then use a ‘to do’ list to prepare the corresponding appraisals.

  • Performing, Following Up and Approving Appraisals

    • You can perform every appraisal online, or use a different medium.

    • During this phase, you can save and change every appraisal as often as you want.

    • You can set up the system to determine partial results and overall results automatically. A range of calculation methods are provided to choose from.

    • You can create notes and store descriptions for every appraisal element.

    • Once you have performed an appraisal, you can complete it and archive it.

    • You can use a workflow for approving appraisals and for controlling further processing of appraisal results.

    • You can use the appraisal results to control remuneration in Compensation Management.

    • You can follow up and process the appraisals results in different way.

  • Reporting

    • Every appraisal has a unique status.

    • You can use a search function to report on all appraisals on the basis of a range of selection criteria.

    • From the hit list of this search, you can access all the related functions that you need.

    • A range of display options are available for appraisals (from the overall list to the detailed view).

    • You can calculate the average results of appraisals, and generate a ranking list.

  • Comparison

    • You can compare appraisals with the same criteria groups with each other. This comparison gives you detailed information on the rating of each appraisal element.

    • You can compare appraisals against one specific appraisal (reference appraisal) or against average values.

    • A range of formatting options are available to help you tailor the comparison to your own specific needs.

  • Management of appraisals

    • You can access all functions for editing and evaluating appraisals both from the profile views of appraisers and appraisees, and via a separate reporting function for appraisals.

    • The profile view and the search function provide you with up-to-date information on the status of the appraisals, the overall results and any notes that exist.
