The Addnl data tab only appears if the class type allows you to use the class as a class item in bills of material (BOMs). Classes like this are used in variant configuration.
You can maintain the following data on the Addnl data tab:
Allowed in BOMs
If you set the Allowed in BOMs indicator, you can use the class in BOMs.
The following data is copied to the BOM item as default data when you use the class in a BOM. However, you can overwrite the default data if required.
Base unit of measure
You can enter a base unit of measure for the BOM item.
This unit of measure must be capable of being converted to the unit of measure of the objects you classify in the class.
Res. item category
Specify an item category for the BOM item.
Organizational area
If the class type has organizational areas, you can enter organizational areas to restrict the characteristics of the class in configuration.
Required component
If you set this indicator, the configuration is not complete until a component is selected from this class item.
Multiple selection
You can specify whether it is possible to select more than one object from this class.
This indicator is only read in configuration simulations, not when the BOM is exploded in material requirements planning (MRP).
