Broker Report Processing with Web Applications

Use

You can use this component to automate processes for broker report processing (previously seen by the broker as system-independent) by implementing web applications.

The implementation of broker collections with web applications gives the broker and the insurance company many advantages. Some steps and functions differ from the standard broker collection process.

  • One of the primary advantages is that the broker is now able to compare the broker report in the system with the actual collected amounts, and that the processor at the insurance company no longer does this - but is still responsible for clarification cases.

This greatly reduces the processing time during daily business for the insurance company.

  • Broker report processing supports the brokers with easy-to-use web applications, which lead them through all processing steps with a simple proposal and confirmation principle.

  • The web applications for broker report processing can be accessed by brokers and by the insurance company, so that both parties have the same view of the data for clarification cases to be cleared.

  • The web applications provide authorization and identification functions for brokers and insurance processors, so that brokers can only process the customers/contracts for which they are actually responsible.

  • The web application is also easy to use and understand for occasional users. Brokers receive the information that they need for their tasks. They do not have to deal with redundant information or with internal system setting parameters.

  • The system automatically posts the broker reports after brokers have released them.

Implementation Considerations

You have integrated the web applications in the portal to allow you to use broker collections with web applications. For more information, see the SAP Netweaver Library under Start of the navigation path Key Areas in SAP Netweaver Next navigation step Key Areas in People Integration Next navigation step Portal Next navigation step Portal Administration Guide End of the navigation path .

For an overview of the web applications in broker collections, see Overview of Web Applications for Broker Collections .

Integration

Broker collections with web applications is part of Collections/Disbursements (FS-CD) for insurance companies.

Brokers that process broker reports with web applications in broker collections can also use the Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment component to display outstanding amounts after posting and transfer them to the insurance company. For more information, see the SAP Library under Start of the navigation path ERP Central Components Next navigation step Accounting Next navigation step SAP Financial Supply Chain Management (FIN-FSCM) Next navigation step Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment End of the navigation path .

Features

The system leads the broker through the web applications with a proposal/confirmation principle.

After receiving correspondence from the insurance company (in the form of an email, for example), which informs the broker about the creation of a new broker report, the broker can log on to the web applications for broker report processing with a portal and get information about the amounts to be collected from the broker report created by the insurance company. Brokers can create broker reports if requested, or independently as required.

After performing collection, the broker can confirm, change, refuse, save, and print the broker report items proposed by the insurance company in the Web Dynpro applications, or release them to the insurance company for posting. The broker can also create new broker report items.

For more information about the functions in broker collections with web applications, see Broker Report Overview , Processing Broker Reports , and Manual Creation of Broker Reports .

Constraints

Note that the processes Broker Collections with Internal Broker Reports for Insurance Companies and Broker Collections with Web Applications are mutually exclusive.

In broker collections with internal broker reports for insurance companies, the broker only reports the collected amounts on a system-related basis (in paper form, as an Excel sheet, or other file format, for example) to the insurance company. The insurance processor compare the broker report in the SAP Easy Access menu for Collections/Disbursements under Start of the navigation path Broker Collections Next navigation step Broker Report Next navigation step Process End of the navigation path and the other nodes.

In broker collections with web applications, the broker reports collected/disbursed amounts directly in the web application and automatically triggers the posting of the amount when releasing the broker report. These brokers are defined as web broker in the insurance object from the Broker Contract category on the Broker Collections tab page.

For this reason, take note of the rules for broker report processing with web applications .
