Defining How Default Values WorkLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

In the user settings, you can define how the system interprets the default values defined for characteristics in characteristics or class maintenance functions.

You have two options:

  • The system interprets the default values as if they were initial values. This means that the values are treated as user entries. Technically, the characteristic has an assigned value.

  • The default values are only proposed as defaults. This means that the values are not treated as user entries until the user has confirmed them. If you do not confirm a default, value, the characteristic technically has no assigned value.

Procedure

To define settings for default values:

  1. In the function for classifying or finding objects, choose Start of the navigation path Extras  Next navigation step User settings, End of the navigation path then tab Default values.

  2. You can make the following entries:

  • To use default values as user entries, select Yes and Copy.

  • To hide default values, select No and Copy.

  • To use default entries only once the user has confirmed them, select Yes and Confirm.
