The Object Navigator enables simple navigation through complex object relationships. When you start the object navigator, the entry object becomes the central object.

Navigation that you have configured in Customizing for the object navigator
In Customizing, you can specify which object types and which views are displayed for an object on the Web user interface (Web UI). By assigning these settings to roles, you can restrict navigation for different types of user. For more information, see Customizing for
Navigation via context menus
You can make settings for the navigation via context menus in Customizing for the UI framework by choosing
.If you navigate via the context menu of an object in the object navigator, you leave the object navigator screen. You can perform the following object-navigator-specific actions:
branch to object editing modes such as create, change, or display, as well as open a second object navigator session by choosing Display in Object Navigator.
branch to other functions such as Add to Favorites and Add to Transfer List
In the view area of the object navigator, data is displayed in the following types of lists, which each have different navigation options.
Homogeneous lists, which contain only objects of the same object type
In homogeneous lists, the system displays all attributes of the objects in the list. You can activate Filters, to gain a clearer overview of the object attributes, for example.
Heterogeneous lists, which contain objects of various object types
Within a view that contains a heterogeneous list, you can display further attributes of the objects by choosing Show Details.
