 Preparation of an Appraisal

Purpose

In the preparation phase, many details that are required for holding the appraisal have to be determined.

Note Note

The appraisal is prepared by a person commissioned to do so. This person does not necessarily have to be one of the appraisers defined for the appraisal in question.

End of the note.

The following information is required:

  • Objects to be appraised (persons, business events, and so on)

  • The appraiser(s)

  • Appraisal model

  • If applicable, the period in which the appraisal has to be created

Note Note

In the case of multisource appraisals, a period can be specified for each appraiser/subappraisal.

End of the note.
  • For multisource appraisals: weightings of appraisers

Note Note

The weighting plays a role when the overall result is being calculated. In the standard system, weightings are only taken into account in the following calculation methods:

End of the note.
  • Determining the overall result using averages

  • For non anonymous appraisals: whether the appraiser(s) should remain anonymous

Note Note

If this flag is selected, information on the appraisers is stored in the system, nut this information is not displayed in the appraisal.

End of the note.
  • For anonymous multisource appraisals: the number of anonymous appraisers

This information can be

  • Defined from scratch

  • Copied from a completed appraisal

There are two possible scenarios in this case:

  • The current appraisal was planned for in the follow-up activities to the last appraisal (this applies to appraisals like annual performance reviews, which are held regularly, for example); the information defined in the last appraisal is copied automatically.

  • The appraisal is created by copying from an appraisal that has already been completed.

The information that is copied should be checked over and, if necessary, changed.

Appraisal details can be changed until preparation of the appraisal has been completed, or the appraisal has been held, and saved in the system.

Process Flow

  2. It is possible to specify that the system should determine appraisers or appraisees automatically, and to output these in a "to do" list. For further information, please refer to "To Do" List Creation .
