Graphical Maintenance of Class HierarchiesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can also use graphical maintenance to assign classes to superior classes. In an tree, you can set up complex class hierarchies without losing an overview. Each step is logged, so you can undo each step.

While you work, a Recursion Check ensures that inconsistencies are avoided.

Key Features

On the initial screen, choose Last Objects to call one of the last 10 classes you processed. If you have defined layouts for processing hierarchies and want to use one, choose Select Layout.

After selecting a class, choose Change. To display the hierarchy, choose Display.

Caution

All classes in the class hierarchy you want to process are locked for other users for as long as you process the hierarchy. This includes classes you insert by creating assignments, even if you undo the assignment again. The classes are not released again until you exit the transaction.

For this reason, we recommend that you keep the class hierarchy you are processing as small as possible.

Upper Screen Area
