In the returns logistics process, consolidators accept, inspect, and forward parts that the customer has returned. Consolidators inspect the goods so that a decision can be made as to what to do with the returned parts.
The portal enables the consolidator to perform these functions using a Web interface.
Returned goods may go to various consolidators on their way back to the final destination. However, the consolidator portal supports internal consolidators who are modeled as plants in SAP ECC. The tasks that the consolidator has to perform are displayed in a portal that is based on SAP ECC. Some internal consolidators may also have warehouse management systems.
In the portal, a consolidator can do the following:
Display a worklist containing all handling units (HUs) in the returns deliveries that the consolidator expects to receive
Post goods receipt for the incoming goods
Inspect returned parts and save the inspection outcome
Display a work list that comprises all outbound deliveries to be forwarded to a different location
Forward returned parts to a different location
Display a stock overview at the exchange group level for used parts
