 Importing Electronic Account Information

Purpose

Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable supports the processing of electronic account statements from your house banks.

Process Flow

Data is usually transferred from credit institutions using PC-supported Banking Communication Software (BCS) operated by the credit institutions. In Germany, the transfer is usually performed with MultiCash software.

Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable supports the transfer of electronic account information as follows:

  • Transfer from the bank data storage of the component Bank Accounting (FI-BL)

  • Transfer from a file in MultiCash format

  • Transfer with the data transfer program from Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable

You can import files in MultiCash format using the standard program in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable or, for the transfer to the bank data storage, with the standard program from Bank Accounting (FI-BL).

For files in other formats, you first have to convert these to the MultiCash format or the format expected by the data transfer programs in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable . Both Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable and Bank Accounting (FI-BL) provide programs for the conversion to MultiCash. To convert account information delivered by the bank to the format expected by the data transfer programs in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable , you have to create your own program.

The transactions contained in the electronic bank statement, which you have to post in FI-CA, are stored there depending on the type of transaction in: payment lots, payment order lots, or returns lots.
