Use

Process Monitoring and Analytics makes the business processes being implemented in your underlying SAP Business Suite systems visible to you. Processes running in your systems can be based on workflows or can be built-in processes.

For a long time, a disadvantage of built-in process was the fact that they could not be logged and, therefore, how the process was executed could not be monitored. You can now use the Process Monitor and Process Definition Viewer to see a process, and all the elements that constitute a process. (Processes are made up of activities and influencing parameters such as the system(s) the process is running in, predecessor and subsequent activities, key performance indicators (KPIs), users, and so on).

Increased process visibility means you can identify where you can:

  • Speed-up and streamline critical business processes and process steps (process automation)

  • Detect problems as early as possible in order to solve them as fast as possible (process integration/message monitoring and error handling)

  • Adapt management by exception strategies and foster automation together with a selected set of process KPI’s like lead time or counts for given activities

  • Identify areas for improvement by using statistics returned by analytics dashboards
