Function documentationCreation and Cascading of Corporate Goals and Core Values

Talent management specialists can use this Web application to edit corporate goals and core values (shortened to goals and core values) for the predefinied Performance Management process as well as the flexible appraisal process .

Example Example

Talent management specialists assign corporate goals and core values to relevant organizational units.

End of the example.

Prerequisites

If you want to set the validity period for the corporate goals before the process starts, the Business Add-In Set and Check Validity Period for Goals is available with the following methods:

  • Method: PERIOD_DEFAULTING

You use this method to set default values for the validity period (from – to).

For example from January 1 to December 31 of the current year

  • Method: PERIOD_CHECKING

You use this method to check the validity period entered. If necessary, you can return an error message if, for example, a validity period of more than 12 months has been entered.

  • Method: PERIOD_VISIBILITY

You use this method to determine whether the validity period is input-ready for the user. If you do not want this, then you must implement the PERIOD_DEFAULTING method.

You can use the PROCESS filter to set a different validity period, for example, so that the goals in the flexible appraisal process have a different validity period from those in the predefined Performance Management process.

Features

Talent management specialists can perform the following actions for corporate goals and core values both before the start of the process as well over the course of the year:

  • Edit goals and core values

    • You can create a goal or core value, enter relevant information such as the title, description, and rating KPI (key performance indicator) for the goal used to measure the goal achievement. If the goal or core value has been saved, the goals and core values appear in the structure.

    • Delete goals and core values

You can delete uncascaded goals and core values in all phases (planning, review, appraisal). Deleted goals are removed from the system.

  • Cascade goals and core values

With Cascade Goals or Core Values, you can cascade the goal or core value to the relevant group of people. The following options are available for this purpose:

    • Organizational unit structure

For the organizational unit, goals and core values are assigned to all employees of that organizational unit.

Once you have cascaded a goal or core value, the relevant employee documents (appraisal document for employees) are available.

    Note Note

Corporate goals and core values that have already been cascaded cannot be changed.

    End of the note.
  • Set goals and values as obsolete

You can set a cascaded goal or core value to obsolete in all phases (planning, review, appraisal). Goals and core values set to obsolete appear in the Obsolete area. They are not removed from the system. Instead, they are simply no longer available to managers and employees.

Employee Document (Appraisal Document)

The goals and core values valid to an employee are available to him or her in the appraisal document in the area for corporate goals and core values. You can set cascaded goals and core values to obsolete depending on the status of the appraisal document.
