Profiles in Extended Inbound Delivery Processing

Use

In extended inbound delivery processing, you can use profiles to adjust the dialog to the roles of the individual user groups. Profiles allow you to define user roles more precisely and to assign them to individual users or user groups. By using profiles, you can restrict the available functions and screens for a certain users to those which are necessary for their tasks.

The standard ERP system provides transaction profiles for editing documents, posting and clearing. These transaction profiles correspond to the transaction codes VL60V ( Edit documents ), VL60P ( Posting ) and VL60C ( Clearing ). Typical functions and authorizations have been defined and assigned to each of these transaction profiles. You do not have to assign transaction profiles to specific user groups.

You can also define individual user profiles. You always have to assign user profiles to a user group.

Maintaining profile modules allows you to better meet your requirements and to adjust the goods receipt process to your user groups and their roles. After maintaining individual profile modules, you combine these modules to form an overall profile.

The system provides several standard profiles which correspond to the process steps document editing , posting and clearing . The standard profiles contain functions and settings which are useful for these process steps.

Features

You define individual profile modules in Customizing for Service Parts Management (function profile, object profile, selection profile, column profile, filter profile and configuration profile) and combine them to form an overall profile. You define the permitted functions, which inbound deliveries can be selected, and configure the appearance of the screen.

Activities

Make the appropriate settings in Customizing for Service Parts Management (SPM) , by choosing Start of the navigation path Extended Inbound Delivery Processing (SPM) Next navigation step UI Profiles End of the navigation path .

Example

A user who is responsible for preliminary entries does not need the goods receipt posting function. By assigning this user to the profile preliminary entry , you define which functions and selection conditions are available for this user.

You can also use profiles in order to adjust extended inbound delivery processing to the organization of a plant. You can create various profiles for postingwith different unloading points in their filter settings, for example.
