Object Selection | The default application uses the personnel number (object type P) of the employee who is logged on, to retrieve birthday and service anniversary details for their peer group. In the standard delivery, this application displays the birthday details and service anniversary details of all team members who have the same manager. Also, where an employee is logged on and is also a manager, the application displays the details for their direct reports and their own manager. You can configure the application to specify from where the system retrieves the details, for example, from multiple levels in the organization hierarchy or from the complete organizational unit. The default application uses organizational view group ESS_BDAY_ORGGRP, which has only one organizational view. This view retrieves the birthday and service anniversary details for the employee’s peer group from the organization hierarchy. You can configure multiple organizational views to retrieve different employee data sets, and assign this data to the organizational view group. The system displays multiple organizational views for the organizational view group in a list format on the manager’s user interface (UI). For more information about configuring the object selection, see Object and Data Provider for MSS (WDA). |
When a manager clicks the Send E-Mail to Update Calendar
link, the system uses a pre-defined calendar entry text. You can use BAdI: Enhancements for Calendar Entries
(HRMSS_B_CALENDER_ENTRY
), to configure this text. This BAdI can also be used to fill the subject line and mail description in the mailto feature for Birthdays and Anniversaries
.
The following features are available:
The system displays data in a list, which provides an employee’s name, birth date, and service anniversary date. The list is sorted by date, and displays the birthdays and service anniversaries that occur in the selected month only.
The system displays birthdays in yellow and anniversaries in light green in the calendar. If an employee’s birthday and service anniversary fall on the same date, the system displays the date in red.
Employees can export the employee birthday and service anniversary details as an iCalendar (iCal) file to their own mail inbox, using the Send E-Mail to Update Calendar
link.
Employees can send an e-mail to employees, using the E-mail
icon.
