Creating a Material from a Standard

Once you have created a class with standards data and copied the characteristic records from the standard, you can create materials and classify them in the standards class, using the data from the characteristics records.

To create a material, proceed as follows:

1. From the classification menu, choose  Environment  Copy standard  Material from std. 

2. Enter the following data on the screen:

3. Material	Number of the material you want to create
   Material description	Description of the material you want to create
   Material type	Material type of the material you want to create
   Industry sector	Industry sector for the material
   Base unit of measure	Base unit of measure for the material
   Basic material	Material from which the material is made. Here, you can enter the material from which the material is made.
   Standards data no.	Number for selecting the characteristic record according to the standard. This number refers to a specific class in which the material is classified.

4. Choose Create.

5. You see the characteristic records saved under this number.

6. Select the record you require by choosing Choose.

7. In the background, the material is classified in the class to which you assigned the characteristic record. The values from the characteristic record you selected are automatically assigned to the characteristics of the class.

8. To check the result, you can display the values assigned to the material.
