Copying DIN Standards Locate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

To copy standards data to the classification system, proceed as follows:

  1. From the classification menu, choose Start of the navigation path Environment Next navigation step Copy standard Next navigation step Copy DIN standard End of the navigation path . You see a screen on which you enter the following information:

    Class

    Name of the class you want to create

    Class types

    Class type of the class you want to create

    Characteristic Description

    Description of the class you want to create

    Logical file

    File that contains the DIN standards data

  1. Choose Execute .

    The system copies the following characteristics data from the file you entered:

    - Code letter

    - Description

    - Format

    • Length and

    • Unit when available

      Individual characteristics

      For each characteristic you copy, enter the name you want the characteristic to have in your system.

      You can also define whether you are required to assign a value to the characteristic on the characteristic value assignment screen when you classify an object.

  2. Save your data.

    From the standards data you copied, the system creates a class. On the standards data screen of the class, the fields Standard, Standard number , Version, Issue date , and Char. table are automatically filled by the system. The class has status 0 . This means that you must release the class before you can classify standardized materials in this class.
