Procedure
To copy standards data to the classification system, proceed as follows:
From the classification menu, choose
. You see a screen on which you enter the following information:Class |
Name of the class you want to create |

Class type of the class you want to create |
Characteristic Description |
Description of the class you want to create |
Logical file |
File that contains the DIN standards data |
Choose Execute .
The system copies the following characteristics data from the file you entered:
- Code letter
- Description
- Format
Length and
Unit when available
Individual characteristics
For each characteristic you copy, enter the name you want the characteristic to have in your system.
You can also define whether you are required to assign a value to the characteristic on the characteristic value assignment screen when you classify an object.
Save your data.
From the standards data you copied, the system creates a class. On the standards data screen of the class, the fields Standard, Standard number , Version, Issue date , and Char. table are automatically filled by the system. The class has status 0 . This means that you must release the class before you can classify standardized materials in this class.
