Procedure documentationCopying a Standard FPM Application Configuration

You copy a standard Floorplan Manager (FPM) application configuration when you want to edit the user interface text of an application. You make the changes in the copied application.

Prerequisites

The steps outlined in the procedure section below describe how to make a copy of an application configuration at design time using the Deep-Copy action. This is the recommended method.

However, the FPM framework also provides a link, Application Hierarchy, that appears at the top of the application screen during runtime and allows you to access the same Deep-Copy action. To enable the FPM Application Hierarchy link, choose the Parameters tab under Start of the navigation path System Next navigation step User Profile Next navigation step Own Data End of the navigation path and enter the parameter ID FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT with value x. To run an application configuration, right-click the application configuration and choose Test.

Procedure

FPM allows you to make a deep copy of an application configuration, including buttons, associated events, and Web Dynpro windows. To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. Open transaction SE80 and select the package PAOC_ASR_WD_PROCESS_EXECUTE.

  2. Go to Start of the navigation path Web Dynpro Next navigation step Web Dynpro Applicat. Next navigation step ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_FPM Next navigation step Applic. Configurations End of the navigation path.

  3. Double-click the application configuration you want to copy. Choose Start Configurator.

The application configuration opens in a web browser.

  4. Choose Display.

The browser displays the Assignment of Component Configurations on the Structure tab.

  5. Choose Go To Component Configuration.

The browser displays the selected component configuration.

  6. Select the Deep Copy button on the main toolbar.

The system displays the Application Hierarchy Browser, showing all the individual components of the application configuration (the application configuration itself, the Guided Activity Floorplan, and the Identification Region). An extra column, Copy, indicates which components are to be copied (by default, all components are selected).

In the Target Configuration ID enter a name (which belongs to the customer namespace) for your copied application configuration; this will be the name of your new application configuration.

  7. Choose Start Deep Copy.

  8. When you have made a copy of the configuration in transaction SE80, choose Refresh Tree Display.

Your copied application configuration is now visible in the folder with the other application configurations.

Result

You have successfully copied your chosen FPM application configuration. You can now make changes to your new application configuration.
