SAP Jam is an enterprise collaboration tool that focuses on business activities such as analyzing data, planning meetings, and making decisions. This solution allows SAP Learning Solution customers with blended learning approaches and to stay current with best practices and run more effectively in the area of learning and talent development.

.You must have the required authorizations (SAP Jam administrator and SAP Learning Solution (LSO) administrator).
SAP Jam groups can be assigned to one or more course types, for example, class room training or web-based training.
Learners who have booked the course that is linked to SAP Jam Group get an invite to join the group (through E-mail or SAP Jam notification area).
Learners can accept the invitation and start collaboration directly or from Learning Portal
at later point of time.
A button or a link is available for the learners to access the SAP Jam group from the Learning Portal
. This button or link is available next to the time independent trainings on the Training Home
page or on the Course Type
page as well as on the Training History
(under Completed
courses).
You can maintain the label for SAP Jam Group Link
for the required languages in Customizing under (else the default text SAP Jam Group
is visible).
Note
The administrator has to login into system with the corresponding language and maintain the label. The default text is maintained only with the German logon.
Assign a SAP Jam group as a template (master) to time dependent course types.
Automated copying of SAP Jam groups and settings to support collaboration at a course level.
You must maintain the SAP Jam Group Settings
infotype to perform the above action.
Learners, instructors, and tutors get or lose access to the SAP Jam group automatically at different points in time depending on the settings maintained in the SAP Jam Group Settings
infotype.
These settings define when a learner, instructor, or tutor is invited to access a SAP Jam group or are removed from the SAP Jam group.
You can revoke access of the users from the SAP Jam group assigned at the course type level by activating the customizing switch LSJAM_REVOK
in Customizing under .
You can maintain a user as a generic course type responsible (for all course types) by maintaining a user name in the customizing switch LSJAM_COREP
in Customizing under .
To set up a collaboration, complete the following activities:
Collaboration at a course type level:
Administrator for SAP Learning Solution
should create a group within SAP Jam. For more information on SAP Jam group creation, see SAP library under .
After the group is created, the course administrator must link the actual collaboration group to the course type by following the steps below:
Go to
.Find the Course Type for which SAP Jam ID
should be maintained and choose to go to the details.
Edit the Course Type.
Use input help to maintain the Infotype SAP Jam Group ID
.
The input help will only list the ID of SAP Jam groups in which you are owner or member.
You can also manually maintain the ID of SAP Jam group in which you are not owner or member. The system returns a warning and allows you to save.

SAP Jam groups can be used by multiple course types.

Collaboration at a course level
Administrator for SAP Learning Solution
should create a group within SAP Jam. This group is used as a Master group to automatically create a new SAP Jam group at a course level. The settings and the administrators are copied from the master group to the new group. For more information on SAP Jam group creation, see SAP library under .
After the group is created, the course administrator must follow the steps below to maintain the SAP Jam Group Settings
infotype that is required for a successful collaboration at a course level:
Go to
.Find the Course Type for which SAP Jam Master ID
should be maintained and choose to go to the details.
Edit the Course Type.
Use input help to maintain the Infotype SAP Jam Group ID

You have to run the report RH_SOCIAL_MANAGER_LSO
to create a new SAP Jam group for collaboration at a course level using settings from the Master group.
The administrator must maintain the collaboration settings for each user role like tutor, instructor, or learner. A user can get or lose access to the SAP Jam groups based on the settings maintained.
