Prerequisites

  • You must have the following user credentials:

    • EA-HR 607 SP31 or EA-HR 607 SP07 is installed

    • You have access to a SAP NetWeaver 7.31 or Netweaver 7.40

  • Ensure that SAP Netweaver Gateway add-on (SAP_GWFND /IW_BEP SP08 or higher) and UI add-on(SAP_UI SP08 or higher) components are installed.

  • You have an understanding of the configuration steps as described in the following guides:

Procedure

To configure SAP Jam for SAP Learning Solution, proceed as follows:

  1. Log in to the SAP Jam page configured for your company using your user ID and password.

  2. Go to Admin view.

  3. Choose External Applications from the menu on the left side of the page.

  4. Choose Add Application to add a new application. If the application is already configured, then select the application form.

  5. Choose Edit from the dropdown Action menu.

  6. Maintain the following values:

    1. Name:

    2. Select Application Type:

    3. Select Authentication Type:

    4. User name: Same user for the gateway system and the test/development system

    5. Password: Enter the test/ development system password

    6. NetWeaver client Id: Enter the system client ID

  7. Choose Save.

  8. To configure the OData service for the external application, goto Start of the navigation path Actions Next navigation step Manage Objects End of the navigation path.

    1. Choose Add Object

    2. You can maintain the following values for the following object types:

      1. Name: Classroom Trainings

        External Type: Enter the metadata url for the OData appended with a collection name.

        Annotation: Enter the metadata url for the OData appended with a collection name that contains the annotation.

      2. Name: E-Learnings

        External Type: Enter the metadata url for the OData appended with a collection name.

        Annotation: Enter the metadata url for the OData appended with a collection name that contains the annotation.

    3. Choose Update

  9. Goto Business Objects browser on the SAP Jam homepage.

  10. A business object with the same name as the external application is created.

  11. Choose the business Object.

  12. The system displays the different types of trainings like Classroom or E-Learning under that business object.

Note Note

Only the trainings which have No Intranet flag unchecked for the course type are displayed.

OData Service Activation in the Gateway System

Service Name: LSO_JAM_WIDGET_SRV

  1. In the gateway system, go to transaction /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE or use the following Customizing:Start of the navigation path SAP NetWeaver Next navigation step Gateway Next navigation step OData Channel Next navigation step Administration Next navigation step General Settings Next navigation step Activate and Maintain Services End of the navigation path.

  2. In the screen that is opened select Add Service.

  3. Provide the System Alias and the Technical Service Name as LSO_JAM_WIDGET_SRV and choose Get Services.

  4. Select the entry displayed and Save.

  5. Go back to the previous screen, search for the service LSO_JAM_WIDGET_SRV using find option. In the lower part of the screen use the dropdown ICF Node to activate the ICF node.

  6. Use Add System Alias to assign the system aliases to this service.

The service is now ready to be called and used.
