When you execute a query, SAP Query evaluates the data from a database and outputs the results in a list. This list is lost as soon as you leave the list display. If you want to display the same list at a later date, you have to execute the query again with the same selections. And the system has to re-evaluate the database. This is unsatisfactory in the case of lists (annual reports, for example) that cannot be changed, but are referred to often.
SAP Query allows you to save any lists you have generated and to redisplay them later. When you display a list, which has already been saved, no more database accesses are necessary. For this reason, the response time for displaying a saved list is considerably shorter than when the list has to be reconstructed by executing the query again.
