Transporting InfoSetsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

When an InfoSet is transported, the InfoSet and the assignment of the InfoSet to user groups in the source client are transported.

Procedure
  • To import an InfoSet, the appropriate logical database must exist in the target client. In addition, an extensive check of the InfoSet is performed against this logical database. This check eliminates any inconsistencies between the InfoSet and the logical database.

  • The REPLACE import option first deletes the assignment of the InfoSet to user groups in the target client. The InfoSet is then transferred to the target client and the assignment of the InfoSet to user groups from the source client is applied if corresponding user groups exist in the target client.

  • The GROUP=bg import option first deletes the assignment of the InfoSet to user groups in the target client. The InfoSet is then transferred to the target client and assigned to user group BG of the target client if a corresponding user group exists.

  • During an InfoSet import, the import option MERGE: makes sure the assignment of that InfoSet to user groups in the target client is maintained. The InfoSet is transferred to the target client and the assignment of the InfoSet to user groups from the source client is applied if corresponding user groups exist in the target client.

  • The UNASSIGN import option first deletes the assignment of the InfoSet to user groups in the target client. The InfoSet is then transferred to the target client. The InfoSet is not assigned to user groups.

Note

As described above, the import options REPLACE, GROUP=bg, and UNASSIGN delete the assignment of that InfoSet to user groups in the target client first. If, however, a user group in the target client still has queries that refer to the InfoSet, the assignment remains.
