Assigning Users and InfoSetsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

To be able to work with the Query Maintenance component, a user has to be assigned to a least one role or user group.

To be able to change queries, a user needs authorization for authorization object S_QUERY with the value Change (see SAP Query Authorizations). These change authorizations can be revoked for each individual user of a user group.

Procedure

  1. You are in the User Group: Initial Screen. Enter a name in the User Group field.

  2. Choose Assign Users and InfoSets. The User Groups: Assign Users screen appears.

  3. Enter the names of those users that are to belong to this user group.

    Note

If you do not want to enter the names of users individually, choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step With Selection End of the navigation path. A list of all users who have a user master record in your system appears. Select the user names that you want to assign.

Choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Without Selection End of the navigation path to return to the screen with the list into which you have to enter the names of the users manually.

  4. To be able to change queries, the user requires authorization for the authorization object S_QUERY with the value Change.

    See Query Authorizations.

You can assign or revoke these change authorizations for each individual user of a user group by choosing the following buttons:

    • Change Report. Select All granted

    • Change Report. Delete All reset

When you click the selection field before the name of a user to set or delete the checkbox, you can assign or revoke the change authorization for individual users.

    Note

A change authorization can, however, only be revoked, if the user in question actually has a corresponding authorization in the user master record. Checkboxes behind user names that have no change authorization according to S_QUERY are grayed out and cannot be selected.

  5. Choose Assign InfoSets.

This takes you to the User Group: Assign InfoSets screen with a list of all InfoSets. Select those InfoSets that are to be assigned to the user group.

    Note

You can define queries only for those InfoSets assigned to user groups in which you are active.

  6. Save your entries.
