 Using the Labeling Tool

Use

If you created a report template with the Wizard and call the label from report management or the report information system , the SAP system loads the labeling tool.

Note Note

Labels for which the labeling tool is loaded cannot be exported, sent, or printed out via the SAP spool.

If you have not used the Label Wizard, Microsoft Word is opened directly.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a report template with the Label Wizard (see Using the WWI Label Wizard ).

  • You have released the report template and assigned it to a generation variant.

  • If the report template does not contain any specification symbols, you can select the report directly in the report information system.

If the report template contains specification symbols, you must create a report in the specification management hit list (see Report Editing ). As long as the report is not released, you can select it in report management. Following release, the report is also available in the report information system.

Procedure

  1. In the report tree in the report information system (see Using the Report Information System ) or in report management (see Editing Worklists for Reports ), select a report that was created with the Label Wizard.

  2. Choose or .

The EH&S Labels dialog box appears.

    Note the following:

    • Choose the Settings function to select the unit and language that are to be used in the EH&S Labels dialog box. Under Settings , you can also choose between the labeling files WWI_ALL.LBL and WWI_USER.LBL.

    • In the EH&S Labels dialog box, the SAP system shows in the Label template section what dimensions (height x width) the currently open label has.

    • Activate the Show only fitting labels check box if you want only the labels of a suitable size to be listed in the Label information group box under Product number . Under Label properties you can check the height and width for the product number you clicked on. The Detail function provides you with more details about the dimensions of the label. In the Labels in row and Labels in column fields, you can see how many labels can be displayed or printed out per page on the page format you have chosen.

    • If no suitable label is found, you can choose another name in the Label products field or choose the New label button. Enter a label name and the dimensions. Choose OK to enter the new label as the label product USER.

    • If you cannot find the correct paper format in the selection list for the label you defined yourself, you can extend the list by adding the required paper formats in the label file WWI_USER.LBL in the [PAPERFORMATS] section. To the left of the equals sign a P must be listed with a sequential number; to the right an internal name for the paper format that refers to another section you need to insert to define the details of the paper format.
