Push Deployment
Use
In urgent situations where you have a stock shortage in a given plant, you can use push deployment to expedite replenishment. In this type of cross-docking, you start the replenishment shipment by taking stock from the receiving zone immediately after goods receipt is posted. The goods may not even have to be unpacked or relabeled.
Integration
When goods are received in the warehouse, they are first posted goods receipt to stock type "Received on dock" (ROD). This stock type is mapped to a storage location in the ERP system and an ATP category in SAP APO, and is visible only for urgent consumer requirements, such as stock shortages. SAP APO determines if and when push deployment is required.
