Creation of Change Documents for Specifications

Use

The SAP system logs all changes that are made within Specification Management. In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Context Fields for Creation of Change Documents you can specify which context information is displayed on the objects that are determined in the creation of change documents log for specifications (such as identifier, material assignment, transport approval).

In the change document, the objects are determined that were:

  • Created

  • Deleted

  • Changed

Changes that were made by a reference or inheritance are marked, that is, the actions (create, change, delete) are not listed individually; there is simply a pointer to the corresponding reference set in the table ESTRR or the inheritance set in the table TCGTPLREL. For each object, the change date, change time, and the user name of person who made the change are displayed in addition to the context information.

Note Note

Change document creation for specifications is independent of Engineering Change Management for Specifications .

End of the note.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools , you have made settings in the Creation of Change Documents section.

Features

The system displays the change documents in a tree structure. If changes were made for the defined context, the old and new data is displayed together with the defined context. The following functions are available on the change document tree screen:

  • With Start of the navigation path Utilities Next navigation step Switch Layout End of the navigation path you can compress the display differently.

    Note Note

You can use authorization object C_EHSS_CDE to execute an authorization check for the creation of change documents. To give a user authorization to display change documents, the value 03 must be assigned in the ACTVT ( Activity ) field. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Specifying Authorizations in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools .
