The following tables each show a section of the process activity log of the participating logical systems as well as the relevant process activity overview. The log and overview entries are fictitious and are shown in a simplified manner.

Entry 2 Because errors occurred during creation of the loan account in System B, System B transferred the service message (and by doing so the process step as well) to the Error and Conflict Handler (CA-FS-ECH) application.
Entry 3 A loan officer has received the postprocessing order. However, because information is missing in the application for opening an account, the loan account cannot be opened. In the postprocessing order the loan officer selects the Reject option because from his or her point of view it is not possible to process the order successfully due to the missing information. As a result, the Error and Conflict Handler (CA-FS-ECH) has set the status to Failed.
Entry 4 System B starts a service call with the status Failed.
The entries logged in both systems lead to the aggregated process step status Errors in Content for the underlying process step in the Process Activity Overview. The individual log entries are grouped as follows:
Message ID/Process Step ID |
Business Process ID |
Message ID/Process Step ID of the Predecessor |
Technical Reference ID |
Sender |

The status history contains all the information about the individual log entries that the Process Step Journal used to derive the aggregated process step status for the underlying process step.
