Transfer of Employee-Related Data to SAP ERP HCM
You can provide employee data (such as telephone number or e-mail address) to SAP NetWeaver Identity Management from external sources, or create this data direct using SAP NetWeaver Identity Management. SAP NetWeaver Identity Management can forward this data to SAP ERP HCM automatically. You can use this function to transfer employee-related data not prepared by SAP ERP HCM via SAP NetWeaver Identity Management to the Personnel Administration of the SAP ERP HCM system.
With this function you can create users who, for example, are required if you want to execute SAP Employee Self-Services, in the infotype Communication (0105) subtype System User SAP System (0001). Consequently, creating users using transaction HRUSER no longer applies in the SAP ERP HCM System. Note that if you do not use this function, the users must have been created in SAP ERP HCM for your users to successfully log on to SAP Employee Self-Services, for example.
The SAP Identity Management system can transfer employee-related communication data to an SAP ERP HCM system and receive employee-related data from an SAP ERP HCM system.
To be able to use this function, you must have installed SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.1 and application component Personnel Administration of SAP ERP Human Capital Management (as of SAP Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0), and connected them with each other.
To be able to execute the function from SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.1, you require the corresponding write authorization for infotypes Internal Data (0032) and Communication (0105) in SAP ERP HCM. The role SAP_HR_COMM_IDM_INTEGRATION is available for this.
When transferring externally provided employee communication data, no user is created in Personnel Administration of the SAP ERP HCM system. With this function, you can transfer the following external data to an SAP ERP HCM system:

The function uses Business Add-In (BAdI) Implementation BADI_IDM_HR_COMMUNICATION of BAdI definition BADI_EXTEND_IDENTITY to update employee data in the SAP ERP HCM system.
Simultaneous Import and Export of Employee Data
The data import from SAP Identity Management represents a change to the employee data in the SAP ERP HCM system. If you also use the SAP ERP HCM system to transfer employee data to the SAP Identity Management system on a regular basis (delta download mode), then these changes are transferred with the next delta download back to the SAP Identity Management system again.
You are advised when using this function to change the query that defines which data is to be considered in the extraction from the SAP ERP HCM system in such a way that the fields given above are not included in the extraction.
If imported employee data from the SAP ERP HCM system is to be transferred back to the SAP Identity Management system, SAP NetWeaver Identity Management checks whether this data represents a change compared with the data persisted in the SAP NetWeaver Identity Management system. Provided SAP NetWeaver Identity Management does not determine any change for persisted data, the data is not transferred a further time to the SAP ERP HCM system.
