  Generation Variant Indicators

Use

You use the generation variant indicator to specify the stages in the status network in report management through which a report must pass when it is created for the first time (see Report Status Network , Report Editing ).

Using the Change Marks indicator, you can also specify that relevant changes made to specification data since the reports were previously generated should be marked on reports (see Change Marking ).

    Initial Situation

    Result

    You have set the indicator.

    The report is given the status that you specified as Initial release status .

    You have not set the indicator.

    If you create the report request manually, the report is given the status RR (report request), independent of the other indicators.

    You carry out the conversion to Initial release status in report management, using the Generate function.

    Report requests that have been created automatically are always generated by the system.

  • Change Marks field

  • Initial release status field

    In the standard system, you can enter the following as an initial status:

    • GS ( Generation successful )

    • R1 ( Release 1 )

    • RY ( Ready )

    • RE ( Released )

      The switch to the next status is carried out for status GS, R1, and CO by means of the Accept function. If you want to delete the report, choose Reject .

      You can use the Set to Historical function to manually set a report that has status RE to the next status HI ( Historical ).

  • Version requirement indicator

    Start of the navigation path When switching the status from CO Next navigation step RE, the version of the report is set to a higher number if you have set the Version requirement End of the navigation path indicator (see Report Versioning ).

  • Set historical automatically indicator

    The report is set to the status HI automatically if the Set historical automatically indicator is set and a new report for the same specification, generation variant, and language is generated subsequently with status RE.
