Background documentationInbound Processing of Interactive PDF-Based Print Forms

PDF-based forms can be used in the following application scenarios:

  • Interactive online forms

The end user fills out the form online and sends it to the SAP system.

  • Interactive offline forms

The end user fills out the form offline, and sends it to the SAP system, for example by e-mail, or uploads it to the SAP system.

  • Print forms

The SAP system prints the forms using mass printing. The end user does not fill out these forms.

Interactive offline forms allow the entry of data by a user, who is not logged on to an SAP system.

The user can use Adobe® Reader® or Adobe® Acrobat® to open and fill out the form. The form is then transferred to the SAP system. You can trigger the transfer in the form by choosing a pushbutton. When you choose the pushbutton, the system sends the form by e-mail, or triggers an HTTP-POST command of the form. You can also gather forms in directories and then upload them to the system. The following figure illustrates these options.
