UI ConfigurationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

In this step, you can define UI profiles to customize the view of the Geo Explorer or Geo Editor. You need to define at least one profile as the default profile. You might need to define more than one profile for the different user roles in your company as different agents might need to use different sets of basemaps, reference layers and business layers depending on the business scenarios executed. The profile can be assigned to the user as described below. If a profile is not assigned to the user, the default profile will be used. You can also assign a UI profile to the geo object to identify which UI configuration needs to be used when the geometry of the geo object is edited.

Creating a New UI Configuration

To create a new UI profile to launch your personalized UI, proceed as follows:

  1. Double-click on the UI Configurations node in the Dialog Structure.

  2. Click on the Display->Change icon to start the edit mode.

  3. Click on New Entries and add information to all the fields:

    • ProfileID: Select a name for your profile

    • MapSetName: Select a basemap set from the list by clicking on the magnifying glass icon; this list displays all the basemap sets you created in the third step.

    • Group ID: Select a business layer group hierarchy from the list by clicking on the magnifying glass icon; this list displays all the business layer groups you created in the previous step.

    • RL Group: Select a reference layer group hierarchy from the list by clicking on the magnifying glass icon; this list displays all the reference layer groups you created in an earlier step.

    • Default: Select this option if you’d like this profile to be used as the default.

    • Description of User Profile: Choose a meaningful description for your UI profile.

    • BL Sel. Ty: Type of business layers menu. Select one of three options from the dropdown list: Inclusive; Exclusive; Exclusive with Expansion. These options identify behavior of the left side panel for the business layers.

The behavior of the different options is as follows:

      • Inclusive: As soon as you click on the group, all the layers within subgroups of this group will be toggled on or off on the map

      • Exclusive: You have to expand all the groups, select the leaf node which you want to show and only when all the parent nodes are selected, will you be able to see this layer on the map.

      • Exclusive with Expansion: Behavior is similar to the previous option but expansion and selection actions are combined. If group is collapsed, then layers of this group will be shown on the map.

    • RL Sel. Ty: Type of reference layers menu. Please refer to BL Sel. Ty above for available options.

For more explanations on the different reference service types, please refer to the documentation provided by the map service provider.
