 Transfer and Inventory Management

Purpose

Transfer and Inventory Management in SAP Service Parts Management (SPM)in ERP encompasses the following functions:

  • Stock transfer functions map the transfer of stock from connected systems (SAP CRM, SAP APO) and execute these transfers in SAP EWM.

  • Inventory management functions hold valuated stock in the Inventory Management (MM-IM) component and communicate this data to Financial Accounting (FI) for further financial processing.

Integration

Transfer and Inventory Management maps processes between the following components:

  • SAP EWM is the leading system for quantified stock and for goods receipts, goods issues, physical stock transfers, and posting changes.

  • SAP SPM distributes information about the stock movements between SAP EWM and SAP APO.

  • SAP APO plans the deployment of stock across storage locations and processes backorders.

  • SAP CRM is the leading system for returns and assigns returns material authorization (RMA) and core credit request (CCR) numbers.
