View Layout for Product AssemblyLocate this document in the navigation structure

In the standard system, we provide a General view that displays basic information about the product assembly or the selected object. We also provide the following further views, which display related objects for the product assembly (assembly group, assembly header, or assembly item):

Note
  • In assembly headers you can navigate to Linked Synchronizations PSM to BOM. The system displays the synchronization units that use this assembly header as source structure.

You can also navigate to Linked Engineering Records. This displays all engineering records used or reserved to modify the assembly header.

  • In assembly items you can also navigate to Linked Engineering Records. This displays all change records used or reserved to modify the assembly item.

  • Structure

This displays the default relations of objects, including all available subordinate objects, at maximum explosion. An assembly group displays the relations to assembly headers or assembly items. An assembly header displays the relations to assembly items or material BOMs. To support the coexistence of integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) and BOMs, the object navigator displays material BOMs of materials attached to assembly headers or assembly items.

  • Where-Used List

This displays the immediate parent of the object.

    • If the central object is an assembly group, the where-used-list displays the product item variant.

    • If the central object is an assembly header, the where-used-list displays the parent assembly group or the product item variant.

    • If the central object is an assembly item, where-used-list displays the parent assembly group, the parent assembly header and the product item variants.

  • Linked Documents

This displays all documents assigned to the object.

  • Access Control Context

This displays the access control contexts to which the object belongs. You can also see whether the context is an owning context or a compound context.

  • Used / Reserved Change Numbers

This displays all change numbers used or reserved to modify the assembly headers or assembly items.

  • Assembly Headers

This view is available when you display an assembly group. This displays all historical states of assembly headers attached to an assembly group.

  • Transferable Objects

When you display an assembly group, this view is called the Transferable Assembly Group Objects view. When you display an assembly header, this view is called the Transferable Assembly Header Objects view. When you display an assembly item, this view is called the Transferable Assembly Item Objects view. This displays a consolidation of relevant information from all the other views. This view displays the product assembly objects that can be transferred to other contexts. For more information, see Settings of Transfer Options. You can use this view for the multiple selection of objects to be added to the transfer list.

Note

In the navigator settings for a product assembly as central object you can select linked objects of the following object types to display:

  • Product structures and assemblies

  • Product structures and assemblies with material BOM

For more information, see Settings for the Object Navigator.
