The integration of contract packager (CP) functions in a Service Parts Management (SPM) landscape is based on the mappings of material requirement planning (MRP) areas across several systems. To set up MRP areas in the ERP system to represent CPs, ensure that you have made the relevant settings in Customizing.
To manage the CP in an SPM landscape, for the entry point, you should define one storage location to represent the received on dock (ROD) and another to represent the available for sale (AFS). These two storage locations are grouped as one MRP area in Customizing
The default receiving storage location for the MRP area is AFS.
Note
You should maintain the address of the receiving storage location and assign the receiving storage location to the MRP area

The figure below shows the mapping of CP in each of the systems involved:
The ERP System
CP is modeled as the storage location for a receiving plant. (The entry point is in SAP SCM). Each CP is represented by two storage locations, for example, CP_ROD and CP_AFS. These two storage locations are then grouped as an MRP area of type storage location. The CP_AFS is the master storage location of the MRP area. To distinguish the usage of MRP areas, a business type is assigned to the MRP area. For CP, it is set to
Contract Packager
.
SAP SCM
Location is the object used in SAP SCM. The MRP area in the ERP system is translated using core interface ( CIF) into a location in SAP SCM, which is referred to as the MRP area of a CP location. The target location of a scheduling agreement is used to identify the primary/planned CP.
SAP CRM
Business partners are the objects used in SAP CRM. The MRP area of business type
Contract Packager
in the ERP system is downloaded through SAP CRM middleware into SAP CRM, where the business partner and the MRP area are mapped. During the download a business partner, enriched by MRP area-related address data provided through the default storage location in the ERP system is created in SAP CRM.
A user exit has to be activated in the ERP system to enable the mapping process during CIF. For more information, see SAP Note 746982.
SAP ICH
In CP, SAP Inventory Collaboration Hub (ICH) communicates with the ERP system using the ship-to-location, which corresponds to an MRP area CP location in SAP SCM.
SAP EWM
From the perspective of the ERP system, CP is regarded as a warehouse that is specified by a plant/storage location in the ERP system. Depending on the Customizing settings for the buckets in SAP EWM, a mapping between the ERP system and SAP EWM is provided.
Note
If you change a master data definition in the ERP system, then you should also make the change in SAP SCM and SAP CRM.
