 Validation Integration

Use

This function allows you to check the ship-to-location in an advanced shipping notification (ASN) against the one of the corresponding items in the reference document.

Features

The validation framework checks the following:

  • If a ship-to location is provided in the ASN, whether it is same location as thecorresponding item in the reference document

  • If the location is not provided in the ASN, whether it is provided in the reference document item

This check verifies whether the plant and storage location in the reference document identify an MRP area. The storage location could be either CP_AFS or CP_ROD. If found, then a CP is involved in the scenario. An IDoc without a storage location identifier is rejected with an error message.

  • If it is a standard inbound scenario without CP involvement, then the enrichment routine of the validation framework gets the storage location from the reference document item.

If no plant and storage locations are mentioned, depending on validation customizing, the inbound delivery may not be created.

    Note Note

In the purchasing document if CP is involved as a ship-to-location, then the storage location should be the default receiving storage location of the MRP area CP AFS.

    End of the note.
  • In a redirection scenario, the storage location could be different from the one on the reference document. Here, it should be one of the redirect-allowed CPs that is, another CP of the same entry point plant.
