The appraisal document is available to the executing role, such as Manager or Employee, as a Web application in Web Dynpro technology for ABAP.
You have made all the required settings for the appraisal template in Customizing for Objective Setting and Appraisals
.
The following options are available in the worklist of the executing role:
You can call the appraisal document for editing.
You can edit the appraisal document online or offline.
You can go through the phases of the appraisal process (planning, review, appraisal) and their associated tasks as well as enter the appraisal document's current status or substatus. The appraisal template includes the following:
A graphic and timeline of the phases in the appraisal process (planning, review, appraisal).
Entries: For example: attachments, action log
Process description
The individual steps of a phase in the process can be described in text form. In a graphic, the system displays which step has already been processed as well as the step the processor is currently in.
Administrative data: For example: name, status, validity period, objective setting date
Part appraiser: For example: Name of part appraiser and appraisal role
Document tabs with relevant entries (individual goals, compentency and development goals, team goals, corporate goals, and core values)
Selection for how to continue (save and leave document, close planning)
Along with the configuration options for the appraisal template itself (Edit Template
, transaction PHAP_CATALOG_PA
), the following options are also available to administrators in Customizing:
User interface for template layout configuration
You can arrange the layout of the appraisal document and display tab pages in the document provided you have grouped the individual elements of the appraisal template accordingly. The following options are available for configuring the layout of the document:
Row layout
The columns of the appraisal element are listed in the document vertically. The following applies for the row layout:
Collapsible appraisal elements
You can display collapsible appraisal elements in the document and determine whether you want to these appraisal elements to be displayed in their expanded form.
Final appraisal and weighting always visible
If you want to use collapsible appraisal elements in the document as well as the Final Appraisal
and Weighting
columns, you can determine that the final appraisal and weighting are always visible in the document.
Tab page
You can configure tab pages in the document and use the appraisal elements to define which criteria groups and criteria you want to display as tab pages in the document and which criteria groups and criteria are grouped on those tab pages.
Display of blocks
You can display appraisal elements in blocks as a means of grouping criteria. This simplifies the document.

Column layout
The columns of the appraisal element are listed in the document horizontally. The following applies for the column layout:
Tab page
You can configure tab pages in the document and use the appraisal elements to define which criteria groups and criteria you want to display as tab pages in the document and which criteria groups and criteria are grouped on those tab pages.
Display of blocks
You can display appraisal elements in blocks as a means of grouping criteria. This way, you avoid unnecessary empty spaces in the document.

The following options are available to you in the appraisal document without any special Customizing settings:

Expand and collapse descriptions (such as a goal description)
User interface for template process configuration
The process flow can be displayed in the appraisal document if you have defined the individual process descriptions of the appraisal template.
Mandatory courses
Appraisers, such as an employee's manager, can enter a course as a mandatory course for an appraisee, such as the employee, in the appraisee's appraisal document. Then, to fulfill the defined goal, the appraisee can see the mandatory course in the appraisal document, search for the course in the Learning Portal, and book a suitable date for the course. If you would like to make cascaded goals and values available to the appraiser as well as the appraisee in the appraisal document during the flexible appraisal process, you must implement the necessary enhancement in the appraisal catalog for the appraisal template.
