Classification Status Locate this document in the navigation structure

Definition

You can assign various statuses to a classification record. These statuses are defined separately for each class type in Customizing for Classification. SAP delivers the following settings as standard:

  • Released

This status is assigned when the assigned values are complete, which means that values are assigned to all the characteristics that have the Entry required indicator.

  • Incomplete

A classification is incomplete if not all characteristics with the Entry required indicator have a value assigned to them. To save the values assigned so far, set the status to Incomplete.

If you assign an object to a class that has required entry characteristics, but do not assign characteristic values, the system sets 'Incomplete' status automatically.

    Note

The system can release classifications automatically, if you change an incomplete classification so that it is complete. To make this happen, the Automatic release indicator must be set for the classification status in Customizing for Classification.

  • Locked

If you want to ensure that the characteristic values assigned to an object are checked again, for example, you can set this status.

The classification status is relevant to the find objects function. You can exclude locked and incomplete classifications from your search.
