Prerequisites

You have made the settings described in the topic Preparations and Customizing (PA-PD) .

Process Flow

A personnel administrator creates a qualification for an employee, and defines a validity for this qualification. The personal administrator enters this information in the employee’s Qualifications subprofile.

This generates the event CREATEDWITHVALIDITY ( Qualification created with validity ), which triggers the workflow. See Workflow Template PDExpiredQua (PA-PD) . The workflow comprises two steps that run parallel to each other: Wait for Renewal, and Matchup Completed.

Matchup carried out

This step sends a work item to the personnel administrator at a specific point in time, and informs him or her that the qualification is about to expire. A profile matchup is carried out to provide information on the qualification.

The start date is the end date of the qualification’s validity period minus a period defined in the appraisal model.

The personnel administrator can now decide what to do next.

Wait for renewal

If the qualification is renewed before the work item is sent, the workflow is terminated automatically.

Remainder of Process Flow

When the qualification is renewed, a new workflow is triggered.
