Use

You use this function to display content from the accordion items of the side panel (see Side Panel). The navigation in the side panel is de-coupled from navigation in the view area, which allows you to open different dashboards, query views and previews simultaneously. This means that you can analyze and compare complex sets of data easily.

Features

The following features are available in the view area:

  • To open a quick view in the view area, choose Start of the navigation path Option menu of tray Next navigation step Enlarge in Main Window End of the navigation path.

  • To open a query view in the view area, navigate to the query view in the list on the Query Views accordion item of the side panel, and click the name of the query view.

  • Drill-down

To drill-down in the query view for further analysis, click the section you want to drill down to, and choose from the drill-down options that the system offers. You can drill-down further in the result screen by clicking the element you want to analyze.

    Note

You can adjust the drill-down options in Business Context Viewer (BCV). To do so, implement Business Add-In (BAdI) Filter Drill-Down Options (/BCV/UIF_FILTER_DRILLDOWN). For more information, see Customizing under Start of the navigation path  Cross-Application Components Next navigation step  Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications Next navigation step  Business Context Viewer Next navigation step  User Interface Next navigation step Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for the User Interface Next navigation step  BAdI: Filter Drill-Down Options End of the navigation path.

  • Change input

Whenever a query view is executed, the system tries to automatically fill the input data (in case meanings are assigned) to the corresponding query view input fields. You can change the automatically filled input field values, and enter additional input field values which the system cannot determine automatically. You can see the input field values the system used to call the query view.

  • Create and display snapshots

You can create and snapshots of your query views. For more information, see Snapshots in BCV.
