You can use this function to define, update, or delete query views of queries in Business Context Viewer (BCV).
You can define a new query view only if the following applies:
You have the necessary authorizations, which are granted to you in one of the following ways:
In the Role Maintenance (PFCG) transaction, you are assigned to the BCV User (SAP_BCV_USER) role.
On the SAP NetWeaver Portal, you are assigned to the BCV User (com.sap.pct.bs_fnd.BCV_USR) role.
You have set up search connectors and query definitions or use the predefined ones.

Predefined Query Views
Depending on the application using BCV, you can find a set of predefined query views in your system. You can use these as they are, or as templates to create your own query views.

Consistency Check of a Query View
You can check the consistency of the newly created or already existing query view. To do so, choose Check Consistency.
Testing Query Views
You can test existing query views in the configuration center by choosing Test in the starting page of query view maintenance.
Deletion of Query Views
You can delete your query views. To do so, open the query view in the configuration center, and choose Delete. The system checks if the query view is used in any dashboards, and notifies you of the check results.
Copying a Query View
You can copy an existing query view. To do so, open the query view for maintenance, and choose Save As. You must give the new copied query view a new ID.
Assigning Query Views to Access Control Lists (ACLs)
You can assign query views to ACLs, on the Authorization tab page of query view maintenance.

Using the configuration center is the recommended approach to making configuration settings in BCV. You should use Customizing only in exceptional cases. For more information, see Configuration Center.
