Starting the Find Object FunctionLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You use the characteristics of the class to find the objects you require. The search criteria you enter (characteristics and the values assigned to them) are compared with the characteristic values assigned to objects. You can search in the initial class only or in subordinate classes as well.

The screen for finding objects is divided into three areas: overview tree of class hierarchy, characteristic value assignment, and search result.

In the standard system, the indicator for the overview tree is set as a default. You can deactivate this by choosing Start of the navigation path Extras  Next navigation step  User settings, Search sett End of the navigation path tab and deselecting the Display class hierarchy indicator.
