When you schedule the write program, you have to enter an already existing variant or create a new variant. Enter the start date and the spool parameters.

You either enter the contract accounts you want to archive directly, or you select them using the business partner.

If you want the write program to only run a simulation for the contract accounts you selected, choose Test Mode. The system then reads the data, but does not create an archive file. The system issues a statistic about the number of data records read during the test run.

If you only want the write program to create an archive file for the contract accounts you selected, choose Production Mode.

If you set the option Start Automatically for the deletion program in Customizing for the archiving object FI_FICA and you chose a productive variant for the archiving program, then the deletion program starts also with a productive variant following this. That means that after archiving, the system deletes the data from the database.

If you do not set the Detailed Log indicator, you receive only a summarized log of the processed objects without success messages.

If you set the Detailed Log indicator, the write program outputs a detailed log with success messages. The detailed log also contains, in addition to the information contained in the compact log, all processed objects including the messages belonging to them.

If you set the Log Output indicator, the system writes the log both in the spool list and in the application log.

In the comment for the archiving run, you can enter a text that describes the contents of the archive files of the archiving run.
