View Layout for MaterialLocate this document in the navigation structure

In the standard system, we provide a General view that displays basic information about the material. We also provide the following further views, which display related objects for the material:

  • Structure

Displays all available BOMs where the material is the header material. These BOMs can be expanded level by level until the maximum drilldown is reached (see Material BOM on the Web UI).

If coexistence of iPPE and BOMs is active, all structures for the material are available in the Structure view:

If the material is assigned to a product variant that is assigned to a product family, the system displays the product family and its multilevel structure.

If the material is assigned to a product item variant that is assigned to a product item, the system displays the product item too.

If the material is assigned to an assembly header, the system displays the assembly group.

  • Where-Used List

Under Where-Used List, you can display the following:

    • The BOMs and their items in which the material is used as an item.

    • The product family and the product variant to which the material is assigned.

The system displays a single-level explosion only.

    • The product item and the product item variant to which the material is assigned.

    • The assembly group and the assembly header to which the material is assigned.

    • The assembly header and the assembly item to which the material is assigned.

For more information, see Product Structure Management and Assembly Management (PLM-WUI-OBJ-PSM).
